Bora Bora esiste. Non se la sono inventata e in effetti ho anche conosciuto un paio di italiane che ci vivono. No, non le invidio, perché a parte i resort e il mare incredibile, Bora Bora non offre moltissimo. Però ci sono alcune esperienze che vanno fatte una volta nella vita e una fra queste è fare il bagno in mezzo agli squali di Bora Bora (ok, mi direte “posso fare il bagno con gli squali anche in altre isole della Polinesia Francese), ma volete mettere BORA BORA? A parte gli scherzi, scegliendo di fare l’escursione al Lagoonarium avrete l’opportunità di fare un giretto in barca con Steve e Robert e di mangiare qualcosa di tipico diverso da ciò che trovate nei resort. Prima di passare alle foto, ecco in breve cosa prevede il tour:

• Bagno con gli squali in mare aperto: fa un po’ paura quando ci si accorge che la barca è circondata dagli squali, ma è abbastanza sicuro tuffarsi anche senza protezioni perché sono abituati alle visite quotidiane
• Bagno tra i coralli: molto bello, ma probabilmente avrete già visto qualcosa di simile, se non è il vostro primo giorno in Polinesia Francese
• Bagno tra gli squali sul motu Lagoonarium: qui gli squali, le razze e altri pesci sono chiusi in una parte di mare recintato. Anche qui si può nuotare in mezzo ai pesci stando attenti a non toccare gli squali
• Pranzo e giro del motu: incluso nel tour c’è anche un pranzo e la possibilità di girare il motu stando attenti ai cocchi che possono cadere dalle palme. Il pranzo è stato molto diverso dal resto dei pasti che abbiamo provato in Polinesia, credo più autentico, comunque buonissimo
• Pareo show: questa attività è molto comune in Polinesia, in questo caso lo consiglio particolarmente per la simpatia di Robert

Bora Bora exists. It was not invented by anyone and I actually met a couple of italians who live there. I do not envy them because apart from the sea, there’s not much. Still, I think that going to Bora Bora and swimming with sharks there is one of the musts do (okay maybe you0re gonna say that you can swim with sharks almost anywhere in French Polynesia, but doing it in Bora Bora will give you a chance to meet Steve and Robert with their Lagoonarium tour. This tour gives you a chance to see stingers and sharks and to taste typical local foods (I haven’t found the same stuff in 4 stars resorts). Before sharing some pictures, here’s how the tour works:

• Swimming with sharks in the open sea: this is a little scary when you first notice sharks surrounding the boad, but after a while you will understand that these animals are used to people and it’s safe to swim there without protection – still listen to what the guides tell you to do
• Swimming among corals: this isn’t gonna be a super cool things, because unless it’s your first day there, you probably saw something similar already
• Swimming with sharks at the Lagoonarium motu: some people don’t like this because sharks, stingers and other fish are not free. Still I think it’s a great experience and the animals don’t seem to be suffering, just enjoy it and try not to touch the sharks!
• Lunch and walk through the motu: lunch is prepared and served on the motu and looks far more authentic than food served in big resorts, so be brave and try everything
• Pareo show: this is very common in French Polynesia, just a little bit funnier because of Robert’s jokes
