In Italy almost every corner is filled with beauty. Yesterday I was visiting the Lake Maggiore in a very relaxed day trip with family. I had no idea of where I was going to, but soon I found out that the final destination was Villa Taranto, close to Intra.
I didn’t know the place but soon after entering the park I was surprised by its rich vegetation and colors. The gardens are beautiful not only to the sight but also your ears will be pleased: along the way I could hear classical music like Beethoven 6th Symphony. The tour takes a couple of hours and I think we were there a little bit late on the season: the best time to go there is when the tulips are blooming (this happened some weeks ago).

The garden was created by Neil McEacharn, a Scottish man who loved flora and Italy. I read on Wikipedia that the place was designed by him to be one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the world. I have to say that the guy managed it: the place is very special.

So if you’re visiting Lombardy or Piedmont, if you’re visiting for EXPO 2015, take a chance to go for a walk in the beautiful gardens of Villa Taranto, and see also Stresa and Isola Bella.

Quasi ogni angolo in Italia è ricco di cose belle. Ieri mi trovavo nei pressi del Lago Maggiore per una tranquilla gita in giornata in famiglia e non avevo idea di dove stessimo andando. Quindi, quasi per sorpresa mi sono ritrovata a Villa Taranto, nei pressi di Intra. Non conoscevo questi giardini, ma appena entrata sono rimasta sorpresa dalla vegetazione e dal colore dei fiori. I giardini di Villa Taranto sono veramente bellissimi non solo per la vista, ma anche per l’udito: lungo il tragitto è possibile ascoltare musica classica come la Sesta Sinfonia di Beethoven. Il tour dura circa due ore e credo che noi abbiamo visitato il parco un po’ troppo tardi: il miglior periodo per visitarlo coincide con la fioritura dei tulipani che ieri erano già sfioriti.

I giardini sono stati creati da Neil McEacharn, uno scozzese innamorato della botanica e dell’italia. Ho letto su Wikipedia che il posto è stato scelto e realizzato da lui affinché fosse uno dei giardini botanici più belli del mondo. Devo dire che c’è riuscito: si tratta di un posto veramente speciale. 

Quindi se vi trovate in Piemonte o Lombardy, se siete da queste parti per l’EXPO 2015, prendetevi un giorno per visitare il lago maggiore, Stresa, l’Isola Bella e i meravigliosi giardini di Villa Taranto.
