“If you’re listening to’ this song, you may think the chords are going wrong”

Questa sera sarò proprio al nord, o comunque più a nord del solito. Così mentre sono in aeroporto ne approfitto per raccontarvi il nome di questo blog.

Una delle mie canzoni preferite è Only a Northern Song dei Beatles. Quello che apprezzo di più in questo pezzo è la forte presenza di George Harrison. Si parla sempre di John, di Paul, di Helter Skelter… così io ho deciso di stare dalla parte di George e dell’atmosfera psichedelica evocata in questa canzone.

Ma io volevo parlare di viaggi qui, e non solo al nord! Quindi dopo averci pensato a lungo non deciso di mettere “travel” al posto di “Northern”. Non ho toccato song perché per me ha un senso così, potevano essere “tales” o “stories”, ma in fondo cosa sono i racconti se non delle canzoni?

Tonight I will be somewhere in the North. As I am waiting in the airport I think it’s the perfect moment to tell you the story about the name of this blog. I am a big fan of The Beatles and one of my favorite songs is “Only a Northern Song”. What I like about it si the fact that George Harrison here is the protagonist. You know we always talk about John, Paul, Healther Skelter… So I decided I ma with George and with the psychedelic athmosphere that this song inspires.

Yet I wanted to talk about travels here! I grave it a lot of thought and in the end I came up with the decision to put “travel” instead of “Northern”. I did not touch the word “song” even though “tales” or “stories” could word ad well. The reason why I didn’t change it is that tales in the end are actually songs, isn’t it?

So here you go: Only a Travel Song!
